Based on the below alone China should be affected more
"The U.S. imported a record $539.5 billion in goods from China in 2018. The U.S. is a net importer from China in most market segments such as consumer electronics, apparel, furniture and industrial supplies. The one major exception: agriculture.

By contrast, the U.S. shipped a much smaller $120.3 billion in goods to China last year, Census trade figures showed"

Thus US makes more on the tariff biachara

The question is what alternatives does US have to get the imported products they source from China from elsewhere where the tariffs would be lower? Where will they source these goods, i think that is why China have an edge?

What will happen is that companies manufacturing in china will start closing some factories and opening in other countries where theyre not subjected to tariffs. Basically Trump wants to muzzle and suffocate China slowly

Personally i think in the long run/long term China will still win this war hands down. Let us give it 2030 horizon.

I also hope China wins the war in the long run. For now China more inclined to wait out and see if trump wins in 2020.

Apparently, future versions of Huawei smartphones hat run on Android will also lose access to popular services including the Google Play Store and Gmail and YouTube apps.

Looks like Huawei is a major target for Trump here...

Are you saying Huawei can not come up with an OS like android? Google will lose in this.

But this is just a proxy war, main target is Iran. That's why Moscow is very quiet, waiting for the real war. US need to try and weaken Beijing economically before they venture into Tehran so that they will be confronting Moscow only. But I doubt it will work...

I'm sure they already have an OS in place. But it makes one wonder which company is really under government control, Huawei or Google?

I think it's now a danger for any business to solely rely on Google or any American product. Even Samsung, Moto and others should worry about using a system that is controlled by the US government.

They have been developing one since 2012 with the intention of releasing in 2020 - 2021. Seems like they are on course. Kirin processors were developed as a way to stop the over reliance on Qualcomm, Intel, and its doing so well, the OS may be that good too.

Clarifications
1) Android is not controlled by the US government by the country can arm-twist a company from providing (exporting) it's services. Same way American companies are not allowed to operate in Sudan, Iran e.t.c. The same laws that outlaw distribution of cryptographic software to certain states that are considered enemy states.
2) Having an OS is a very small small part of the equation. How many people are using it? How many people are willing to build apps that run on it?
it's a chicken and egg situation that companies like Microsoft couldn't get right!

Google cannot lose this... Most Users are like crocodiles...very simple beings... they just want a phone that works. They will go to Samsung or HTC and get exactly the same thing they had earlier in Huawei.

Google is in a tricky place. They have to abide by the law. However
1. Huawei is the second largest Android OS mobile manufacturer. If Huawei develops their own OS, in the least they'll deny Google some ad data assess,
2. The likes of LG, Samsung may also be thinking of having a backup development OS ie. ukiona mwenzako akinyolewa...

If you stay ready, no need to get ready.

I agree with you mostly, but when you think about it, Android is a pretty new OS, unvailed slightly over 10 years ago in 2007. Phone manufacturers have all along being developing their own independent OSs so they can stop paying loyalties to Google. Of course it is not easy because it's like Mercedes having to manufacture their own tyres but it's doable.
But Google has just opened a door into doubt about their reliability as they cannot operate independently. China by itself is a big market, one that Google, Facebook etc have been trying to get into as it can offer real revenue growth but now all that is in doubt. I'm sure this is one decision that will come to bite Google. The Chinese will develop their own OS and put all their phones on it ie Huawei, Oppo, Tecno, Xiomi, Infinix etc, leaving Samsung to Android before they follow suite. Apple seem to have gotten it right all along and the Chinese should use it as a case study.

Google is now being controlled by the US government same crime that Trump is accusing Huawei of. Not good at all.

It is goologle (and US govt) that should be punished/banned for spying on us and stealing our data.

If China banns Apple, Apple would lose 30% of their business.

China should shut Apple manufacturing factories which are all located in china and cripple apple 100%.
