WSR will surprise people. The man who ran Chesire out of town into oblivion, denied Baba the presidency at the 11th Hour, has Kept MO_1 & sons under check , will not relent on the prize. I am sure he is praying to match up Baba at 76 in 2022.

I agree. If it's a race he's ahead of the pack. By like 6months - 1year. I don't know Whether the race is a sprint or a Marathon. If it's the latter, then nobody should start celebrating yet.

When it comes to the top prize, you should temper your ambitions since enemies and obstacles only increase with time.
I can't wait to see the implosion in Jubiri...casualties will be many and widespread.

Best strategy in Kenya history has been to fake interest by (in-action and lies/words)..then unleash your arsenal just b4 the eleventh hour. The current frontrunner is only able to fake by words not actions coz everyone knows whatvtheyvdo behind closed doors at night, that's his only disadvantage. The dilemma for the others is to what extent you can keep quiet when your opponent is running full steam. By the way this is what led to 07'PEV. As Rao and team run the show in the runup to election, kibaki kept quiet all through - the weapon he knew best. since these other guys were so loud and all over the media, their supporters believed they were destined to win. When their expectations were not met the result was violence. We must avoid possiblity of this scenario in '22, tough balancing act

Jubiri was a special purpose vehicle for a specific assignment which was done and dusted. An sure even WSR has his ready for 2022. Otherwise, he cannot sit pretty and leave his fate on party choice matters to the likes of Murathe. The JP gang can easily pull a stunt on him last minute and deny him a certificate.

I am asking a question to Mt.Kenya residents here. What direction will the voters go ? And most importantly, who will shepherd the sheep towards that direction. A bit of history here. We are talking about 7M votes in 2022.

1992; Kibaki takes Nyeri, Laikipia, Nyandarua, Kirinyaga, Meru, Embu.
Matiba takes Nairobi, Kiambu, Nakuru, Muranga.
1997 ; Kibaki takes all the above but Kiambu registers voter apathy hitherto
unseen. Kiambu votes MPs in Ngilu's SDP, Safina and even Raila's NDP.
2002 : Kibaki takes everything above except Kiambu and the diaspora vote in
RV. Uhuru takes Kiambu, diaspora and good chunk of Nairobi.
2007 : Kibaki takes the entire vote bloc. No dissenting voice.
2013 : Uhuru inherits entire bloc but interesting trend in Meru. Baba gets 70K
votes and 2 MPs on an ODM ticket.
2017 : Uhuru takes over entire bloc.

From the foregoing, Mt.Kenya always rallies behind a kingpin. It is clear we shall not have one in 2022. Kibaki subtly threw his weight behind Madvd in 2013 but Uhuru prevailed. In the absence of a kingpin, will the bloc

(a) Exercise voting freedom like our brothers from Western ?
(b) Or will Uhuru retain control ?
(c) Or will there emerge a kingpin the way WSR snatched North Rift from Moi.

It's becoming clear that the oligarchy doesn't want WSR near state house, and he knows it. He probably knows that he can't win against them irrespective of how big his financial war-chest will be in 2022.

My hypothesis;
If he is the sleek politician he appears to be, he knows his best case lies in him maintaining power rather than trying to go against the oligarchy. Mainly due to two points:

1) historically, the Odingas have messed themselves trying to go against them with little to show for it (compare with man Jim).
2) The economy will most likely go belly-up before 2022. You don't want to be the leader pulling the country back on track after, as you will be remembered as the leader who caused much suffering to the people. Remember this will not be like the economic mess of the late 90's when they were mostly eating tax money. This time round it's loans on the table, most of which mature 2020-2023....

My hyppthesis is that he can maintain power post 2022 by playing his cards as a candidate till last minute, thereby getting a sizable political war-chest. Then bulldozing his way in to the next government as a king-maker. Maybe even get the Deputy PM post. This way he gets to maintain his wealth and build up more political acceptance going 2027/32.

P.S. I'm seeing highest probability as Rao/Uhunye in 2022. Prezo/PM....the two idealists
.

Please assist with numbers for 1997 turnout for Central we verify on 'apathy hitherto unseen'

SDP, Safina & Ford People had MPs in Murang'a too! But let's leave such facts out, stereotypes are sweeter

Kingpins have no place in the future we're trying to create. They belong to the past. As for 22', I suspect mt Kenya will not (and need not) vote as a block this time round. If Kenyatta family wants to remain at the table let them bring someone else from the family. Otherwise no pork will entertain the previous one to be anywhere near power after their term is over. It would actually be a national security risk

@FRM2011, My stoneball tells me either a Governor or a current sitting MP will either spoil or form a coalition with WSR. Nyumba will not be without a candidate either vying for No 1 or a no 2 to someone. Otherwise they can't just wake up to go vote when power is going Ruguru in full, ama namna gain?

My hypothesis too. I see this handshake leading to:

Prezo: Rao (Nyanza)
DP: Ukambani (Eastern)
+
PM: Uhunye (Central)
DPM1: RV
DPM2: Central or North Eastern
DPM3: Joho (Coast)
DPM4: MDVD (Western)

I see these are only important areas to fill the winning basket.

NB: Not that I support this dynasty plan. Just looking at how things are going.

Uhuru should not run for any other post. It's greedy and a disgrace. He will have had 10 years to implement his magic already plus why would you come from president to PM? I keep wondering why the politicians who second this argument don't see how dump it is, kwani the country has run out of capable people to take over? And I say this as someone who supports and voted for Uhuru.
